Fundamental support to burn injured patients and their families is now a reality!

In 2020 Care4Burn have worked intensively to establish an agreement with the Executive Board at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Moshi Tanzania to sponsor imperative surgeries for children whose families do not have the financial resources for surgical treatment themselves.

Due to lack of financial resources, many children end up staying at the hospital waiting for surgical treatment for weeks, months and years. Often, this waiting time and lack of treatment leads to shortened life expectancy or a severe disability.

An operation costs approximately 700 Danish kroner and burn injured patients require an average of 1-3 operations, depending on the injury and the size of the burn.

Children who are assessed as eligible for support from Care4Burn are included on an ongoing basis, both through the hospital ‘social welfare system’ and through a medical assessment.

Elementary but crucial surgical operations can prevent these children from being disabled for the rest of their lives and instead grow up with their families and live a well-functioning life.

The agreement has now been signed and we are ready to start!

Together we can make a difference.

Fushu’s Help package

Help package filled with joy and laughter!

The two comedians Farshad Kholghi and Lukas Birch believe that the Danes need to laugh more at the absurd world we live in. Therefore they have decided to give the people a Help package in the form of a humorous Talk show.

Every week Fushu, the Talk show host, interviews a well-known Dane as well as handing out a delicious cake to a volunteer organization or others who have done an indispensable job over the past few months.

In this week’s episode, Care4Burn’s chairman Karianne W. Fjære receives Fushu’s Help package – right after a fascinating interview with Joan Ørting!

Welcome Lea and Farshad

We all need to smile and feel the bubbling sensation of laughter coming to the surface. It is valuable to have the ability to take something serious and big, and that can be difficult to put into words, over to a joyful context, filled with giggles and laughs.

Care4Burn’s board experienced this Monday evening when they met with Farshad Kholghi, entrepreneur and speaker, and that together with his wife Lea Kholghi Frederiksen are Care4Burn’s newest ambassadors.

The children that Care4Burn works to make a difference for, amongst other by sponsoring their surgical treatments, are in a life situation where they need to rebuild themself, both physically and mentally. They have to relate to life anew. For these children to make the most of their lives, it requires them to believe in themself – and trust that they are good enough as they are.

Farshad is an inspirational man with an honest outlook on life. He knows how it is to start all over in life, creating a new life for yourself? His story is poignant, unique and provides substance for reflection.

We welcome Lea and Farshad to Care4Burn. We are very grateful that they wish to supports our work and that they want to help us put focus on burn injured children and their challenging situation.

Together we can can make a difference!
