SUPPORT THE FORGOTTEN PATIENTS

Burn injuries represent a major public health crisis in low- and middle-income countries, and yet they are forgotten, even though children bear the greatest burden. In several African countries, burn injuries are the third most common cause of hospitalization.

Your contribution will make a difference for an individual child.

Care4Burn aims to improve the quality of life for children with burn injuries in Tanzania.

We do this by strengthening local healthcare competencies of surgeons and nurses in burn wound care and reconstructive surgery, by sponsoring essential patient treatments for children whose parents lack the financial resources to pay for their child’s treatment and by ensuring access to necessary surgical equipment for modern burn care treatment.

At present, we are engaged at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi.

The Forgotten

Care4Burn’s documentary is an informative an aesthetic story about burn injuries in Tanzania and Care4Burns’s history and work.

“Burn injured patients in low- and middle-income countries are a big, forgotten patient group. They deserve our attention and help”.
Karianne W. Fjære (Care4Burn founder and chairwoman).
