Care4Burn is a humanitarian health care organization that works to help patients, primarily children, with severe burns in developing countries in Africa. Care4Burn is based on voluntary engagement and we work with the perspective that everyone has the right to health care and the best possible conditions for taking part in society.
Care4Burn’s privacy policy applies to the information and services provided through www.care4burn.org.
When you join Care4Burn, donate for our purposes (as a private person or company) or sign up for our newsletter, you entrust us with a number of your personal information and consent to us collecting the information. Personal information is any kind of information that can be brought back to you to some extent. Care4Burn is committed to protect and respect your privacy. This privacy policy is therefore intended to help you understand what data we collect, how and why we collect this data and what we use this data for. Personal Information
You decide what data we collect. By signing up for Care4Burn, donating for our purposes or signing up for our newsletter, you consent to us obtaining a number of personal information about you. Before we collect personal information about you, you will always be informed and we ask for your consent. We only collect information that is necessary for us to process your membership, your donation or your registration for our newsletter. We do not collect information for purposes other than those disclosed in our privacy policy.
We collect the following information:

- your e-mail address
- your phone number
- contact person, company name and CVR (for companies)
What do we use the information for?
We collect the information in order to process your membership or donation and to verify that the payment information provided is valid.
By purchasing membership you consent to Care4Burn being able to communicate with you the organization’s newsletters, convening general meetings, inviting you to charity events, and providing other information about Care4Burn, such as any changed terms in the organization.
You always have the opportunity to indicate that you do not want to receive more emails or other information from Care4Burn in the future.
Storage period
The information is kept for the period permitted by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete them. Information about former members is deleted at the request of a member or no later than 5 years after the last paid annual subscription.
Marketing
Care4Burn does not disclose or sell your personal information for marketing purposes. We only use your information to serve you in accordance with your interest in the organization.
Care4Burn strives to hold annual charity events where photos and videos of the participants will be taken. The intention is to use these pictures / videos as part of supporting the purpose of Care4Burn. The pictures / videos will therefore be displayed on the organization’s home and facebook page.
At our charity events, consent is obtained from the participants for the use of portrait pictures / video on the organization’s home and facebook page. Care4Burn does not use portrait pictures / video without the consent of the person concerned. For general “situation” images / videos, consent is not obtained.
You can revoke your consent at any time that Care4Burn uses portrait pictures / videos from the organization’s charity events on the organization’s home and Facebook page.

Security – where information is stored
By joining Care4Burn, donating for our purposes or signing up for our newsletter, you agree to the transfer and retention of personal information.
Data transfer over the internet is never completely secure and Care4Burn cannot guarantee the security of your information. Care4Burn cannot accept responsibility for unauthorized access to the information or misuse of the information. By signing up for Care4Burn, donating for our purposes or signing up for our newsletter, you pass on information to Care4Burn at your own risk.
Care4Burn will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your information is processed securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and otherwise.
When you submit personal information, it always happens via a secure encrypted connection.
The information that Care4Burn receives is stored on a secure server. Payment transactions are encrypted.
Once Care4Burn has received your information, the organization will use procedures and security features to attempt to prevent unauthorized access.
We also use a number of third parties for the storage and processing of data. For example, a third party is used in connection with infrastructure and IT services, the process of credit and debit card transactions and in connection with customer service. Third Party is not entitled to use or disclose personal information for any purpose other than to perform the above tasks and solely handles information on behalf of Care4Burn and may not use it for its own purposes.
Transmission of personal data such as name and e-mail etc. will only happen if you consent to it. We only use data processors in the EU or in countries that can provide your information with sufficient protection.

At Care4Burn’s website there are links to other websites. Care4Burn is not responsible for the content of other websites. Care4Burn is not responsible for their personal data collection practices.
Access to your personal information
The Board of Care4Burn has access to data (personal information). Chairman Karianne W. Fjære and Vice-President Anja Bergmann Stubager are responsible for data.
As a member of Care4Burn, you always have the right to object that we collect information about you. You also have the right to know what information is registered about you. You have these rights under the Personal Data Act and in this connection please contact: info@care4burn.org. You can opt out of the organization at any time.
If we have collected and / or processed incorrect information about you, you have the right to be corrected or deleted.
